Blue Coast
The Blue Coast starts at the River Tagus Estuary, in the Setúbal Peninsula. Benefiting from the sea proximity, it is a coast that extends over long white and thin sandy beaches, for hundreds of kilometers, with soft shades of a clear blue sea.
The mountains are also charming, outlining the Serra da Arrábida, an area of primitive Mediterranean vegetation.
Life here, in the picturesque coastal villages, goes at a calmer pace. Lusitanian historical place as is witnessed by the castles, fortresses, and churches. A region that, in those remote times, was chosen by the Portuguese bourgeoisie and nobility.
It is also a strong traditional wine region, where superior quality wines are produced, with floral aromas and soft flavors, the most famous, the Moscatel de Setúbal.
A coast full of charm to be discovered, with beaches, estuaries, mountains, and inland plains.
A very special region that witnesses the Portuguese way of living the sea.
